The SAE Bachelor of Design has been developed in collaboration with our industry partners. Learn practical, creative design skills and build visual literacy. Develop your business and management skills in practical projects. Experience our state-of-the art studio facilities and refine your talents using industry-standard software.


In trimester 2 choose your specialisation in:

1. Graphic Design, with units in:

  • Typography
  • Design for print media
  • Pre press

2. Web Design, with units in:

  • Interaction design
  • Interface design
  • Design for content management systems

Exit point options:
Option to complete your studies with an Associate Degree of Design after 160 credit points/first prescribed 16 units. The associate degree provides graduates with the basic core skills for entry into the industry, or to cross-skill into a related creative industry. Graduates will have broad technical knowledge and skills at a paraprofessional level.

Entry requirements

Applicants for degree courses must satisfy one of the following minimum entry criteria:

  1. Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) or equivalent, OR
  2. Completion of a diploma level qualification issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), OR
  3. Alternative entry for applicants who do not meet the requirements above. For alternative entry options, contact your campus directly for more information.
