MAFMAD Winner SAE Graduate

2 Sep 2013

Jack Clarke, a graduate of SAE Melbourne, Bachelor of Film Production, has just been announced as one of the winners of this years’ ‘Make A Film. Make A Difference.’ (MAFMAD). MAFMAD calls on Victorians aged 25 or under to write an idea for a short film that tackles the theme: 'Your Mates Life is in Your Hands', to encourage young people to speak up when they feel unsafe.

From hundreds entries, two filmmakers are given the opportunity to bring their short film to life. The winning filmmakers receive a budget of $25,000 and mentorship from industry professionals and the TAC.

Once produced, the films are screened in cinemas, online and at youth events. Winners also receive a $5,000 cash prize.

The MAFMAD competition forms part of the TAC's youth risk-taking strategy. This competition was developed with the premise that the short films will contain a valuable road safety message created by young people, for young people.

Jack starts production on September 16th, so keep an eye out for his film by mid November.
